That's a very good question, Chris. I am off to Toronto for a friend's wedding in a little while, but I fully intend to make duplicate content the focus of a nice long post next week. Stay tuned.

Dave,
Chris from FB here. On the articles I wondered if you are proposing to actually syndicate and allow your articles to be replicated across other sites and networks. Doesn't that violate Google's policy of "duplicate content"? Wouldn't that actually result in a penalty for the duplicate content on your site?

I think it is a different story for Press Releases because I don't think anyone ever really hopes for search traffic to drive a press release. What we're trying to get into the habbit of doing is taking a collection of articles and writing a press release about the collection. Promoting it as a usefull helpful guide. The two advantages we saw to this was we avoided sharing our SEO for each of the articles being syndicated and every time that 1 "press release" was picked up it generated multiple inbound links. One for each of the articles originally noted in the "collection". I just wanted your opinion on this method.
